Extrasport Osprey vs. Extrasport Striper
« on: March 10, 2011, 09:07:10 PM »
Anyone own one of these PFD's?
I have researched tonnes of different PFD Brands and I have decided on Extrasport.
I was wondering how it fits and if it is comfortable?
How is it when paddling?
Is the Striper worth the extra cash?

I picked up an Osprey last year and was quite pleased with it.  I never found it uncomfortable at all.  Now I have not used any other type, so I can't compare it to anything else.

Great, I will probably purchase the Osprey model.
I have a habit of researching quite a bit; hopefully, someone else can give some input.

Just a though but if you also do any shore or fly fishing as well as kayak fishing as I do you might find having seperate PFD and vest a nice alternative.I wear an extrasport Loch pfd with a fishpond adjustable vest over top and it works well especially when I get out of the kayak for a while to wade small pools.Don't know if that suits you but I find it works for me.

That actually sounds like a good idea.
I may have to research that.
Won't it wont be a little warm in the beating sun?

We're in Calgary.... We don't really get 'beating' sun all that often, rarely gets above 25c and the humidity is almost zero. warm, dry, and brown pretty much sums it up. If you don't like the weather in Calgary, wait half an hour... it'll change

That makes sense.
Its like that in the Kawartha Lakes as well.

Springs almost here, I cant wait to get on the water.
